The Spirit of Vaudeville:

The Spirit of Vaudeville celebrates the lives of the old time vaudeville performers.  There are charming song and dance routines, hat tricks, and music played on banjo, guitar, ukulele & musical washboard. Some of the songs are original and some are standards from the 20's, 30's and 40's. I finish off the show by tap dancing while playing harmonica in my mouth, playing the bones in my left hand and juggling with my right hand.

Jewish Vaudeville:

I also have a Jewish show which includes Klezmer songs and popular Jewish tunes like: Bei Mir Bist Du Shein, Yossel Yossel and several songs from Fiddler on the Roof. This Jewish show feels like vaudeville in the Catskills.

Italian Carnevale

I also have an Italian show for senior retirement community entertainment. I sing Neopolitan songs in Italian and English and accompany them on mandolin, concertina (a small accordian), and guitar. In my Italian show I also tap dance to several Italian waltzes and complete the show with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin favorites.

World  Mosaic of Music & Dance:

My World Music show mixes music played on Italian mandolin, bagpipes, Irish pennywhistle, kalimba, didgeridoo, panpipes & Hawaiian ukulele. I also perform Spanish flamenco dancing, Chinese ribbon dancing, & Irish Step dancing. This is a great senior retirement community entertainment where there are several ethnic groups. This show is a mix of my Irish show, Italian show, Jewish show, Latin show, Hawaiian show and Oktoberfest show.

Oktoberfest

My Oktoberfest show includes traditional German folk songs that I  accompany on concertina (a small accordian), guitar and banjo. The show includes tap dancing to German waltzes, Several songs Elvis Presley recorded in German & a musical washboard routine to the Lichtensteiner Polka.

Latin Festival

As a seniors entertainer my Latin show has Spanish and Hispanic music on guitar, Puerto Rican cuatro, cuica, Spanish bagpipes & tenor ukulele. Dances include: Flamenco dancing, a Mexican hat dance with castanets & a Mexican rope dance. My Latin show is great for Cinco de Mayo & Latin American month in Feb.

The Irish Balladeer

Traditional Irish storytelling, music and step dancing are accompanied by bagpipes, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bodhran, and pennywhistle. I also play a variety of jigs, hornpipes and reels on tenor banjo and mandolin. This show was featured at the JFK Presidential Library in Boston,MA.

Hawaiian Luau

I sing popular Hawaiian show songs and play ukulele and guitar. I also perform tap dances while spinning Hawaiian poi balls & puilli sticks. I  finish the show with the Hawaiian War Chant in the style of Spike Jones complete with a lively tap dancing washboard routine. My Hawaiian show is a good show for the summer.

Mardi Gras Show

My Mardis Gras show has  a big repertoire of New Orleans jazz tunes that are perfect on the tenor banjo and guitar.I include tap dancing in the style you might see on Basin St. This show has some of the routines from my vaudeville show which includes: hat tricks, juggling and musical novelty instruments.
Broadway Music & Dance

For my Broadway show I sing and play show tunes on tenor banjo, guitar and ukulele. I include songs of Eddie Cantor, George M. Cohan, Ukulele Ike and Broadway shows that feature the tenor banjo such as: Cabaret, Chicago and Hello Dolly. There are several Broadway style tap dance routines and soft shoe numbers. As a seniors entertainer this is one of my most popular shows.
Square Dance Caller  I call square dances, line dances and can teach a bit of clogging too. For the price of a square dance caller you get a banjo player, singer, guitarist and rope trick artist. I'll even play my bagpipes for a grand march at the end of the evening.
World Mosaic of Music & Storytelling

In addition to singing and playing instruments I also have a storytelling show for senior retirement community entertainment .This show can include stories from: Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Australia, Russia the United States and several other countries.

Holiday Troubador

A multicultural holiday program that includes Christmas carols, Chanukah songs, and Kwanza music played on banjo, mandolin, bagpipes, guitar, and African talking drum.
Holiday Christmas & Hanukah show

Sock Hop Show

This show is a great fit for a slightly younger crowd. It combines Swing and Dixieland music with early Rock and Roll, Elvis tunes, and Beatles music. I play guitar, banjo and ukulele and work in various tap dances  and juggling as well.

Patriotic Show

For the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Presidents Day and similar holidays I perform patriotic music on tenor banjo and guitar. I sing several of George M. Cohan's songs and finish with a tap dancing hat trick dance to “You’re a Grand Old Flag”. Though the content is patriotic, it has the feel of a Broadway show.

Your talent and showmanship was so outstanding that the audience just sat in awe watching you perform. I received so many compliments and inquiries regarding your appearance and everyone agreed that we should have you back again as soon as possible!. Your storytelling was a highlight! Need I say your instrumentals were superb, as well as your dancing "sets." In this day of mediocre talent and hype, you epitomize what a true performing artist is all about.

Here is what the Howell Township Dept. of Senior Services said:

Richard Stillman is a multi-talented entertainer who has performed numerous times at the Howell Senior Center. His energy and versatility are hard to match. Our members are huge fans and rave about his shows days after the scheduled events.  Anyone who hires Richard is in for a real treat. You will not be disappointed!

Here is what Gina Goldman of the JCC Margulies Senior Center said:

Dear Richard:

I’m writing to give you my highest recommendation as a performer. I have been the director of Senior Activities at the JCC for the past 13 years and have been booking you for performances for longer that I can remember. You are talented, professional, charming and just all around, “a great deal of fun!” My group loves you and so looks forward to your shows!. As you know it is usually standing room only. You sing, you dance, but most importantly you really know how to engage the audience and play to what they want to hear! I only wish you the best of luck with future performances and look forward to many more years of working together.

Here is what Anita De Fillipis said about my show:

I am the Arts and Entertainment Director for a Senior Assisted Living. I have many Entertainers come and go, but I must tell you Richard Stillman was by far one of the Best. His professionalism and talent were nothing less than amazing. His Musical talent was outstanding. I strongly would recommend him to everyone. My corporate Office has asked me for his information so we could pass the word of his talent to all our facilities in our company, and of course I was more than happy to do so!
